As previously announced, the ninth Sea Dance festival will not be held in Montenegro. Instead, the special edition under the symbolic slogan Sea Dance in Exile will take place from August 17 to 19 in the most beautiful part of the northern Adriatic — the golden island of Krk in Croatia.
The exciting lineup is led by one of today’s most renowned DJs and producers – Alok, the only DJ to perform in front of more than a million people twice. According to DJ Mag, this Brazilian megastar is the world’s fourth-best DJ, alongside David Guetta, Martin Garrix, and Armin Van Buuren. His followers total more than 50 million, making him the second most popular DJ in the world. Alok will bring legendary hits like “Hear Me Now,” “Piece Of Your Heart,” and “Deep Down” to Sea Dance in Exile for the hottest highlight of the summer in one of the sunniest parts of Europe.
Along with Alok, the paradise island of Krk will host French global sensation Willy William, who has recorded over five billion views and streams globally. His summer anthem “Mi Gente” with J. Balvin is one of Beyonce and Barack Obama’s favorite tracks. These two are joined by DJ superstar Fedde le Grand, one of the most influential figures in the world’s house scene, as well as many others.
Sea Dance in Exile is one of several events that will celebrate everything the Sea Dance Festival has brought to festival culture in Montenegro, the region, and the whole world.
Universally recognized Brazilian superstar Alok is one of the most prominent figures on the world electronic music scene, describing his style as “Brazilian bass” and “dance-pop.” Destined for great things from a young age, Alok – which means light in Sanskrit – changed the music industry forever and set fire to dance floors worldwide. A leading outlet in the field of music and technology MusicTech described him as a musical artist who writes the new rules of dance music track by track, as a producer with a Midas touch, with which he gilded songs from the catalogs of the world’s biggest music stars – from Dua Lipa to The Rolling Stones.
He received an award in 2019 at the International Dance Music Awards for his remix of the song “Piece Of Your Heart.” He also remixed hits such as “Living In A Ghost Town” and “Astronaut in the Ocean.” He is the only Brazilian to appear on the “Billboard Dance 100” list, while Forbes magazine rated him as one of Brazil’s most influential young artists.
Collaborations with greats such as Armin van Buuren, Timmy Trumpet, and Steve Aoki, as well as sets at the world’s biggest festivals such as Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Tomorrowland, have brought him sold-out performances, star status, and an army of fans around the world. Alok’s producing hands with the Midas touch have gilded hits such as “Don’t Cry For Me” feat. Jason Derulo, “In My Mind” feat. John Legend and “Don’t Say Goodbye” feat. Tove Lo and Ilkay Sencan, “Work With My Love” feat. James Arthur, as well as “Hear Me Now,” which is still Alok’s most beautiful song. One of the most memorable tracks he has done is the remix of the soundtrack to the hit Netflix series “Squid Game.”
Sea Dance in Exile will also host the creator of one of the most infectious and greatest summer anthems ever, Willy William. This French music wizard has spawned multi-billion-view hits such as “Mi Gente,” “EGO,” and “Trompeta,” and his global success was also helped by the fact that he was 1st on the list of the most searched French artists on Shazam. There seems to be no end to Willy William’s genius, so it’s difficult to say whether he’s a better songwriter, composer, producer, DJ, or singer.
He became a global sensation after the release of “Mi Gente,” a duet with J. Balvin, in 2017. The song was initially released in French under the name “Voodoo Song.” “Mi Gente” remained #1 on Spotify Global for 12 consecutive weeks while topping the charts in over 55 countries worldwide. The single was also the most Shazamed worldwide for an incredible 11 weeks in a row, and the music video for this song won an MTV Video Music Award.
“Mi Gente” gathered an army of “their people” worldwide, including Barack Obama, who declared that this was his favorite song of the year, while Queen Bey was so mesmerized by this track that she quickly released an official remix version, “Mi Gente Feat. Beyoncé.”
Over the years, this hitmaker has collaborated with the music elite, including Jason Derulo, David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, Steve Aoki, Sean Paul, El Alfa, Sfera Ebbasta, and others. He announced his big comeback last year with radio hits “Trompeta” and “Solo,” a collaboration with Will.i.am & Lali.
The electronic music storm at the biggest and most popular Croatian island cannot be imagined without the legendary “flying Dutchman” – Fedde le Grand, one of the most important figures on the world house scene. His techno classics such as “Put your Hands up for Detroit” and “Let Me Think about It,” just like last year’s hit “Let the Groove Be,” will ignite the dance floor of the best club in the region.
Numerous awards, impressive production, and performances at the biggest festivals, such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, Ultra, and EXIT, put the Dutchman on the list of the 30 most influential DJs in the world, according to DJ Mag. The DJ superstar, whose music Madonna used to promote her “Sticky and Sweet” tour, won numerous awards but also topped the charts in Great Britain, Spain, Russia, Finland, and Bulgaria.
The special edition of Sea Dance in Exile will be held from August 17 to 19 in one of the largest and finest clubs in the region — the Diamond Club, in Malinska, on the island of Krk.
Croatia’s largest island, Krk, has rightfully been called the Golden Island since ancient times. Krk has crystal clear beaches and more than 2,500 sunny hours a year. In this piece of heaven on earth, people treat nature, culture, and historical heritage with special attention, so since June 2005, this Croatian island has operated as the Eco Island of Krk. One of the sunniest parts of Europe, it is also one of the most attractive tourist destinations on the Adriatic coast, a merry-go-round of sounds, colors, and aromas!
Daily regular and VIP tickets are on sale for each event – Willy William (August 17th), Fedde Le Grand (August 18th), and Alok on (August 19th 2023).
