Sea Dance has announced the official procedure for entering this year’s edition of the festival, which will take place from 26th to 29th August on Budva’s Buljarica beach. Following the current anti-epidemic measures in Montenegro, entry will be limited to those visitors who can present proof that they have received at least one dose of a vaccine against COVID-19 or evidence of having had the virus, as well as those who can deliver a negative PCR or rapid antigen test. This safety protocol is similar to the Safe Events protocol conducted at the EXIT festival in July. With the help of scientific studies, it has been shown that festivals are safe gathering places, much safer than shopping malls or cafes, and do not contribute to the mass spread of the virus.
The festival organisers have provided rapid antigen tests at discounted prices of only five euros for those who do not have any of these documents. Testing will be conducted on Thursday from 6 pm on the Buljarica beach, in front of the festival gates. Also, Sea Dance has provided free one-day tickets for the festival’s opening night, 26th August, for young people who vaccinate from 18th to 24th August at official locations throughout Montenegro. This, according to current measures, will be enough to enter the festival.
Festivals as Safe Gathering Spots
During the EXIT festival in Novi Sad, scientific research was conducted by the professional staff of the Novi Sad Health Centre to assess the impact of EXIT on the spread of COVID-19, as well as the degree of effectiveness of the “Safe Events Serbia” security protocol. The results of the research show that festivals are not places of mass infection provided the epidemiological measures are carried out responsibly, as they were at EXIT. The research proves that even during a pandemic, a model can be found in which even the most massive events can take place in complete safety.
Anti-Pandemic Measures at Sea Dance Festival
In accordance with the anti-pandemic measures imposed by the state of Montenegro, to exchange a voucher for a festival wristband or enter the Sea Dance Festival directly with a one-day ticket, visitors must provide an identification document, along with one of the following: a valid document proving that they received at least one dose of a vaccine against COVID-19, or that they have already had COVID-19 (a positive PCR or rapid antigen test no less than 14 and no more than 180 days old), a negative PCR test for SARS-Cov-2 no older than 72 hours, or a negative rapid antigen test no older than 48 hours.
Rapid Antigen Testing at Buljarica
For all those who are not vaccinated until 24th August or cannot present proof that they have had COVID-19 in the past six months, nor a negative PCR test, Sea Dance has provided rapid antigen tests at a discounted price of five euros. Testing will be carried out on Buljarica beach, in front of the festival gates, from Thursday, 26th August, to Sunday, 29th August. The working hours of the checkpoints are 6 pm – 2 am, and the testing is paid for on the spot. All visitors who bought tickets have invitations (free tickets), as well as those who have VIP tickets or VIP invitations must pay for the testing, which is to be conducted by medical workers employed at the Podgorica Health Centre.
Campaign Promoting Vaccination
We remind you that Sea Dance, in cooperation with Lake Fest, Bedem Fest, and Podgorica Film Fest, launched a campaign promoting vaccination among young people, beginning the fiercest fight so far to end the pandemic and return to normal life, using the only weapon currently available to humanity — vaccines. The “No More” campaign is aimed at everyone who misses concerts and festivals, but also a normal life without restrictions.
The seventh edition of the Sea Dance Festival will take place from 26th to 29th August on the beautiful Buljarica beach. It features a fantastic lineup composed of leading international and regional music stars, led by Boris Brejcha, Maceo Plex, Tale of Us, Meduza, Topic, Satori, Bajaga i Instruktori, Senidah, Vojko V, Ann Clue, Tijana T, z++, locals Who See, Parampaščad and many others.
