This producer/DJ exudes intense Mediterranean energy at the DJ counter. Her tracks embody the new wave of techno and minimal techno, and the quality of her DJ skills has been highlighted by none other than Carl Cox.
Unlike most DJs of her generation, Anfisa did not take her first musical steps with turntables but by mixing tracks on the Pioneer CDJ 100s player. Her love of collecting naturally led her to vinyl. This formed the basis for what she was about to present to the world: pure talent, passion for electronic music, and an impeccable work ethic.
She played her first parties in smaller clubs throughout Italy. As her popularity and credibility on the scene grew, she became more serious about production in 2015. She released her first single in 2016 for SPINNIN’ Records, entitled “Stop Talking, “featuring Dutch musician Leroy Styles
This single skyrocketed her career. B2B shows with the greats of the electro scene followed, and as a result, came an evolution in her style and sound – everything led her towards somewhat more sophisticated melodies. The decisive moment happened in 2018 when she met Carl Cox in Sicily and gave him a USB with her tracks, which he then listened to all night. Two months later, Carl invited her to produce music for his Intec Digital label.
In 2019, she released the “Bright Lights“ EP for Nervous Records from New York, followed by the “So Good“ EP for Cox’s Intec. The eponymous tracks show an apparent influence of deep house entwined with techno bass lines. She performed at festivals and club parties worldwide and opened for Adam Beyer, Charlotte De Witte, Radio Slave, Pan-Pot, etc. The following year, she continued to release new tracks, which also got their remixes.
The pandemic did not stop her creative expression, so she did a lot of studio work and put on many live streams from her home. At the beginning of 2021, she reoriented herself from a hard techno sound with the EP “Listen, “confirming her great intuition and propensity for experimentation. This EP is also the first release of her label N:S:DA, i.e., Nisida, named after a volcanic island near Naples.
This was followed by new performances, singles for her own label and others, and the continuous growth of one of the most important semi-underground artists today. This year, at Exit’s Dance Arena, she delivered an unforgettable set and justified the epithet of a big techno star in the making. She will perform for the first time in Montenegro at the Sea Dance Festival, which will take place from 26th to 28th August on Buljarica beach. It will be a show to remember.
