Aside from the excellent music programme, the eighth edition of the Sea Dance Festival brings a slew of additional content and zones realised in EXIT Foundation’s spirit of social activism. This year, the focus is on mental health care, environmental protection, and the continuation of the Stars4Kids humanitarian project.
The messages at the festival entrance aim to point out the importance of mental health, as well as ubiquitous support. “Understanding is an act of love,” “Connecting is why we are here,” “Let’s take care of each other,” “Let’s be kind,” “Compassion will save the world,” “Together. Always!” are just a few of the motivational messages that have welcomed festivalgoers. Bearing in mind the pronounced impact that the pandemic, the economic crisis, and the war in Ukraine continue to have on humanity, during this year’s festivals, the EXIT organisation tried more than ever to be there for visitors and pay special attention to mental health, and this practice has continued at Sea Dance.
Festivalgoers also have the opportunity to participate in several campaigns and activities in the Eco Zone, such as Pixelate and XO Box. These result from long-term cooperation between the EXIT Foundation and other organisations and have a common goal – emphasising the preservation of the planet as a burning issue of the modern era.
Today, on the festival’s final day, before the opening of the gates, the EXIT Foundation, in cooperation with volunteers from Green Home, will organise a clean-up of Buljarica beach and the hinterland to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.
A multi-year project seen in all events within the EXIT festival family is the project of collecting items from performers for humanitarian purposes. In the Stars4Kids campaign, stars who perform at festivals donate personal items (instruments, clothing…) and sign them so they can be sold in an online auction, and all the collected money will be used to treat sick children.
